 IWSG Question of the day: What do you love about the genre you write in most often?

I write romance. The thing I love about romance is the flexibility and diversity of the genre. I could write bdsm, surprise baby, mafia romance or a sport, billionaire, interracial romance. The options are limitless. I used to think that romance novels where mushy, lovey-dovey, and filled with sexual euphemisms and it was always between one man and one woman.Now, the genre has changed with the times. There are books on the charts in every configuration of romance. Dark Romance, angst filled romance, tragic romance that would make Shakespeare weep. The couples are different, too. LBGTQ and Ménage books are popular, now. I love how romance can cross over to different genres, science fiction romance or fantasy romance. Regardless of your taste, romance has you covered. Now let me get back to my MC, surprise baby, holiday, Billionaire, post apocalyptic, Professor/Student Romance. What genre do you like and why?
